Christmas Eve Eve and Christmas Eve

It's been a fun few days around here! We have had so much fun as a family just enjoying time together. It's always sad for me when it comes to an end. We only have one more day with just us left and I am trying to soak it all in.

The day before Christmas Eve was a busy one, but fun and full of memories. We started our day with making Christmas cookies. Jeff offered to go grocery shopping for me (which was a HUGE blessing) so it was just us girls while Landon napped. Avery wasn't too interested in helping us but every now and then she would come around to see what was going on.

Avery soon discovered that stacking the cookie cutters and knocking them over was way more fun the making cookies.
They had so much fun decorating.

That night our church had a Christmas Eve Eve service. It was a great service and the kids all got to be in church with us. At the end of service all the little kiddos where called on stage to sing a Christmas song they had been practicing during Sunday school. It was pretty cute and lucky for us our girls were right in front.

Here they are with some of their favorite friends and our amazing babysitter.

Here are the girls that night after church. Landon was asleep during this picture so I had to take his later all by his little self.

On Christmas Eve we just stayed home and tried to get ready for Christmas. We did squeeze a little craft in that night.

That night the girls got to opened their last Christmas book. (I got this idea from my wonderful friend Melodie. We had lots of Christmas books we wrapped up and on most nights before bed we let them open one.)

Christmas Eve night we let them open one present which was Hungry Hungry Hippo. They loved this game and all the giggling that took place was priceless!

And here are my cuties Christmas Eve night all the ready for bed in their Christmas pj's. I love them!
On Christmas Eve Eve I was thinking a lot about last year. Last year at this time I was suffering through the heart ache of a miscarraige and this Christmas I was holding and cuddling my very own sweet answer to prayer. I couldn't help but focus on the fact that God's promises are true. My sweet boy is my gift from God and I am so so blessed by him. Psalm 30:5 Weeping may last for only a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Christmas Dance Recital

The girls Christmas recitals were super cute and fun this year. I loved every moment of watching our girls perform their dances. They were so cute up there and of course Jeff and I were just beaming the whole time.

Adalyn's class was first thing Saturday morning. She was so excited the second she woke up that morning.
She did two different ballet dances. She was so serious and focused. Adorable!

She was so excited when Daddy gave her yellow roses. She loves anything yellow!

She got to enjoy cookies with her friends afterwards, and of course pose for lots of pictures for mommy.

Then later that evening it was time for Aubrey's. Her class did a tap dance and it was so cute. She did such a good job. She was literally right in front of us and she was trying so hard not to smile for some reason. Jeff and I got a laugh out of it. Aubrey definitely had a proud mommy and daddy!
All ready to watch our girl!

The tap dancers!

All the girls posing for some pictures.

She was beyond excited when Daddy gave her pink roses.

Aubrey and Adalyn, Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you beautiful girls and all your hard work!

Lots of Fun Going on Around Here!

We have been so busy the last few weeks but it's been full of fun. Jeff's parents came down last weekend for a visit and meet Landon. I was really bad about taking pictures but we managed to get a few.

While they were here the big girls had their Christmas choir program. I love watching my girls in their little shows. It just makes Jeff and I beam with pride. Aubrey was on stage for the whole musical and Adalyn's class had two songs to sing. Aubrey was cracking me up while up there. She yawned through the whole show, and she wouldn't stop trying to hold the girls hands next to her, which they did not at all want to hold her hand. They kept shoving her hand away. I'm still not sure why she wanted to hold hands so bad? She did manage to sing a little while up there. When Adalyn got on stage they just kept waving to each other. So cute!

This is Adalyn's little friend Harper. They are in dance and choir together and Adalyn just loves her!

We have also been doing our Jesse Tree again this year. I must admit though, it has not at all been every night as I had intended it to be. Goodness it's been rough making time for it this year, but we are trying our best. At least they are getting the understanding of the tradition right? At least that's what I keep telling myself!

Here are the girls coloring their ornaments for the tree.

Our Jesse Tree is so beautiful right :) !
We also had a Happy Birthday Jesus party at our house with our playgroup friends. It was pretty wild and crazy here so I didn't get too many pictures, but it sure was fun!

Singing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus!

Yes, Landon was here during all of the business and here he is in his cute Texans outfit to prove it!

His big sisters always like to be a part of the picture taking of course.

We are keeping busy during this season, but I am ready to slow down and turn our eyes and our hearts to the reason we celebrate. I am so thankful that our Savior was sent to save the world and I feel so incredibly blessed to know his never ending love for me. I am always praying for my children and that one day they will truly know and trust in His deep and passionate love for them.
