Last night as I went to kiss the two big girls good night and pray with them, they each said something so very cute and precious I had to make sure it got written down. As Aubrey got in her bed I told her I wanted to cuddle with her for a minute and pray for her. Her response: "Why mommy? Just because you love me and praise God for me?" Well yes Aubrey, that's exactly why! That made me smile! As I was cuddling with Adalyn, after we prayed we were just talking about all sorts of stuff. We started talking about her sticker chart and that it was almost filled up. She decided last week that she wanted to go on a daddy daughter date to Chili's. So here is our conversation: Me: "So when you get your chart filled up you want to go on date with me to Chili's right?" Adalyn: "No! With Daddy!". Me: "Awww, why not with me?" Adalyn: "Because I love Daddy, he loves me and he is really handsome!" How completely adorable is that. That girl loves her daddy and I had to write that down so she would remember her first love!

And That's a Wrap...
Our trip is over, we are back into the swing of things at home, school is back in "session", and now it's crunch time as we get ready for this boy! We had such a fantastic vacation. You know it's just great to be at your parents house! Dinner is always prepared and cleaned up, my kids always have someone to watch them or play with them and it's just relaxing. So thanks Nana and Papaw for a wonderful vacation, for sweet new memories and for letting our crazy family come interrupt your quiet home for 2 weeks. We loved every minute and we are already hoping and looking forward to a return trip next year.

Wrapping Up Our Vacation
All good things must come to an end... sigh. And as much fun we had on our trip and as much as we didn't want to we did eventually have to pack up and come home. Our last day there was my mom's birthday and we ended up spending the day in Coronado which is just a beautiful beautiful place to be! It was so fun to get to be with my mom on her birthday and the girls had a blast playing at the park. Oh how I miss the fabulous weather there.
Then we went a little crazy with taking pictures! You know how it is at the end of vacation, just trying to squeeze all the pics in! We enjoyed vacation until literally the last second. The day we flew home, right before we headed to the airport, we went and spent a couple of hours at Sea Port Village. The girls got to run off some energy before the long flight home, we ate lunch and then rode the carousel. Then we said "goodbye" to San Diego... at least until next year.Posted by The Skains Family at 8:43 PM 0 comments

Happy Birthday Jeff
Jeff had yet again another wonderful birthday spent in San Diego. Since his favorite thing to do is be on the beach that is exactly what we did. Labor Day weekend on the beach... well it's just crazy crowded. But despite the crowd we had a blast spending time as a family and celebrating Jeff! Aubrey and Papaw got to spend some quality time together. Papaw took her on a little walk down the beach and then they had lots of fun digging for sand crabs. It really reminded me of spending time with my Dad when I was little on the beach.
Me and the birthday boy. NOT a fan of this picture but it was the only one of us together. Baby boy is looking rather large in this pic! After the beach we headed back to my parents house to get cleaned up, then Dad cooked a fabulously delicious salmon dinner! Here are some pictures of the girls with Daddy opening his presents. Happy Birthday Jeffrey Neal. I love you so much and we are all three (almost four) so blessed to have you in our lives!Posted by The Skains Family at 1:08 PM 0 comments

A Day in San Bernadino
My parents, the girls and I took a day trip up to San Bernadino so we could see my Grandpa and my Aunt and cousin. My aunt has a gorgeous pool in her backyard which made for some happy little girlies! It was so great seeing my Grandpa again and watching him with his great grand daughters. We also got to drive the girls by the house I grew up in which was a fun walk down memory lane! Here are some pictures from our visit.

Beach Days
It didn't take long for us to make it to the beach. We spent 3 different days a t the beach, but if Jeff had his way we would have spent many more than that. As much as I love the beach I can only handle so many days of little girls covered from head to toe in sand. It's a lot of work, but most definitely worth it. The girls all had a blast and were just as content as could be playing in the sand and water. Adalyn wanted nothing at all to with the water. She didn't want even her toes to get wet for some reason, but Aubrey and Avery couldn't get enough. The weather was picture perfect each day we were out there. Perfectly sunny and warm but not too hot. Jeff was in heaven getting to body board again, and I was just happy to sit and dig my toes in the sand while watching my girlies play. Here are some from day 1 at the beach. We had some friends come meet us out there which made for an even more fun day.
Aubrey and Gavin had so much fun playing together! Aubrey and Sally picked right up where they left off. They were so cute together. Here are some from beach day 2. Jeff is always such a good Daddy out at the beach. He loves building castles and digging holes with them. Of course the girls love it too! A Jeff dug a big tunnel with the girls. They thought it was so great! Here are Aubrey and Avery sitting in part of the tunnel. So cute! We had one other beach day which was Jeff's birthday. That will have to be another post in itself!Posted by The Skains Family at 7:48 PM 0 comments
