Happy Easter

We enjoyed a wonderful Easter this year celebrating His death and His ressurection and all that He has done for us. We started our morning off with Easter baskets of course, then an Easter egg hunt followed by cinnamon rolls and Easter eggs for breakfast! We managed to make it to church only 5 minutes late after all that. It is stressful trying to get everyone ready, nursed, hair curled, dressed, fed, pictures taken and the list goes on and on! We had a great church service (in which I missed half of because I was nursing, but according to Jeff it was good). In fact I think we have finally decided on a church. This was our second week to visit this one and Jeff and I both feel pretty confident that this is where God is leading our family. I'm sure we will be very happy there and I am excited to see what God has in store for us. After church they had lunch for everyone, an egg hunt for the kids, free family portraits (I thought this was such a great idea), and jumping castles. Needless to say the girls had a blast and didn't want to leave, even after a fuse blew and the jumping castles deflated while they were in there jumping and mommy and daddy seriously had to rescue them! After that Easter party we headed home to get ready for our company for dinner and yet another Easter egg hunt. We had our friend Lance over and then some friends, the Olsons, who have two sweet little girls. It really was a wonderful day with my family! I again just felt blessed and thankful. Happy Easter!

Hunting for eggs (the first one of the day)

The girls LOVED eating their eggs.

Dressed and ready for the day!

The egg hunt at church.

And finally, the last egg hunt. I got tired of taking pictures by the afternoon so sadly, this was about it for the rest of the day!

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter and was reminded of the sacrifices Jesus made for us all!

Getting Ready for Easter

We did a few fun things this week to celebrate Easter, and to throw a little learning in too!

We made these cute Easter basket craft as we practiced counting. I started out by reading this book to the girls. Teaching a two year old and three year old about Easter has been a little bit difficult for me. They just kind of look at me all confused when I tell them "Jesus is alive and He lives in heaven". But I know they will one day get it. I asked Aubrey why we celebrate Easter and her sweet response melted my heart: "Because I love God".

Counting the eggs before glueing them in the baskets.

And the finished product...

We of course had to decorate Easter eggs. This was really fun for the girls, especially since Daddy was able to join in the fun.

Aubrey's first finished egg!

Waiting and waiting...

Daddy was getting fancy with his decorating.

I think we are ready!

3 Months Old

Avery is on a roll and growing and growing right before our eyes. I forget how fast these first months fly by. She is such a sweet heart and still just a good baby. She is most definitely a momma's girl, there is no denying that! I can let someone hold her (sometimes even daddy), and she will scream and scream. Literally the second she is given back to me she stops. It's pretty funny! She has also decided, MUCH earlier than her sisters ever did, that she would rather not be swaddled. She loves to have her hands free and get them in her mouth as much as possible. She just decided she really likes to suck on her two middle fingers. She also loves to be sung to or talked to. She just loves our attention. The biggest giggles we have heard from her are when we are singing to her. A lot of times if she is fussing one of us will go talk to her and her fussing turns to huge smiles. And those smiles still melt my heart. Aubrey and her still have a pretty special connection. Those two love each other! I took her a couple of weeks ago for her two month appointment and my sweet little girl only weighed 9 pounds 11 ounces. It looks like we are going to have another petite girl on our hands. We love you Avery Brenna and I can hardly wait to see what kind of little girl you are going to be!

Flower Pots

What a fun project this was for the girls. They had so much fun painting and planting and they love checking on their plants and watering them everyday. They have already grown quite bit. It was such a simple lesson and now they know how plants grow. I love doing fun things like this with my girls!

First we painted our pots.

Pouring in the dirt.

Planting the seeds.

Watering their own plants has been a favorite!

And now we wait for our flowers to grow.

Stretch!

Avery is so sweet when she wakes up. She still loves to be swaddled, so when I unswaddle her she immediately stretches and stretches, and gives me the sweetest smiles. It's adorable so I had to snap some pictures of her.

I had a similar post like this when Aubrey was this age. I went and looked at the pictures and was amazed with how similar they looked!

Don't have a triple stroller? No problem!

We have two great parks in walking distance from our house. One is a bit of a walk, too much for Aubrey to do. It's also nice to squeeze in some exercise in with the kids and I can't necessarily do that while letting a three year old walk. When I first did this my baby bjorn was dirty and I hadn't figured out how to use my moby wrap yet, so this was my only option. But now I actually prefer this! Aubrey loves this and is in heaven when she gets to help.

Goodbye Sassy's

We finally got around to saying goodbye to Adalyn's paci's, which she has always called her sassy's. When we took Aubrey's away, it was a rough road and she really struggled for a long time without it. So of course I was pretty scared of taking away Adalyn's. She only used them to sleep with and she wasn't allowed to take them out of her bed. I knew we wanted to wait til she was a little older than Aubrey was so maybe she would understand a little better. Plus with the move and then no longer being the baby I wanted to keep something that she found comfort in. But the time has come for her to become a big girl. We let her pick out her own new blankie to replace her paci with. She was so excited to get it. She picked out one with polka dots, just like Aubreys. They both call them their pokey blankies. That night we made a big deal out of her becoming a big girl. We prayed together and thanked God for her paci's and for helping her becoming a big girl, and then all on her own she threw them away. She went to bed just fine that night without a tear. Completely different than when we went through this with Aubrey. But ever since that night naps have become a little bit more difficult for her. In fact, today at naptime, she was in her room crying just a little bit. I went in to check on her and she had such sad tears and told me "I really miss my sassy's". How sad is that. But she is doing such a good job. She loves her new blankie and when she is sad or hurt instead of crying for her sassy's, she now asks for her pokey blankie.

One last time with her sassy's

Her new pokey blankie. She was so proud of herself.

Of course Aubrey wanted to take a picture with her pokey blankie too.

Her New Chair

This weekend we pulled out the bumbo and little Miss Avery absolutely loved it. She was all smiles (until I brought out the camera of course), and was happy as could be sitting up and being able to see us all so much better. Her big sisters loved it too and just wanted to sit and hug her! It was fun and now she has a fun new spot to sit!

Daddy playing "pat-a-cake" with Avery. As you can see, she thought this was pretty great.

And the big sisters, of course, had to squeeze in the picture!
