Bracing for our "first" Texas summer!

We feel it coming, and although we have survived several brutal Texas summers, we have now been spoiled with four glorious California summers! It's getting warmer and warmer, the humidity is getting higher and higher and the bugs are coming out. So what better way to prepare our spoiled California selves than letting the girls break in their new pool. As you can see from the pictures they loved it! I think this is where we will be spending a lot of our time this summer. We got this on Saturday and immediately let the girls try it out. The first thing Adalyn said to me when she woke up on Sunday was "I going to put my swim suit on". We had to convince her that first we had to go to church (which she hasn't been a fan of AT ALL lately). Sunday wasn't nearly as warm, but blue lips and all, they still had a blast.

Dinner and popsicles poolside of course!

And just in case you were wondering, Avery was part of the fun! She at least hung out in her stroller and was all smiles.

Two Months

Here we are once again, celebrating another month with Avery! Why must time fly so fast. My sweet little baby girl isn't so tiny more. She is growing and growing so fast, and before I know it she is going to be toddling around. I am trying to soak up every moment with of having a little baby again. Avery could not be a more content and happy baby. She is so easy going which is really an answer to prayer. SHe had a couple of weeks this month where she really just wanted to be held all the time, but she seems to be over that now and back to going with the flow. She is still nursing very well, she has her schedule down great, and she is sleeping "okay" at night. I'm kind of ready for the 8 hour night to happen, but it hasn't happened yet. She has gone 7 hours two times, but then she went back to the 6 hour night. I know it could be worse, but I'm a girl who needs her sleep! She loves to smile, especially in the morning. She just stares at me and smiles over and over. It melts my heart and I can't help but stare right back and kiss all over her. She has also started cooing. I love it! Aubrey always says "she's talking to us mommy". It's too cute. And she learned to finally love her rainforest mat. It took her awhile. She used to just cry and fuss when I layed her on that until someone came to pick her up or Aubrey would come lay next to her. But just today she discovered all the fun things to look at, so she just layed there staring and cooing. Yay! We are so in love with our sweet girl and blessed once again with a gorgeous girl!

Here she is with her biggest fan!

More Visitors

We pretty much have had a fully occupied guest room since we moved here, and of course have loved every minute of it. Jeff's brother and family came down this past weekend and we all had a blast. The girls especially loved playing with their cousins Riley and Reegan. Between going to the rodeo, playing at the park and chasing four girlies around we kept pretty busy all weekend. Here's a peek at our fun!

The Rodeo. I wasn't too crazy about the rodeo honestly. By the time we got tickets, paid for parking, paid to get from parking to the rodeo, and bought lunch for our family we had already spent a fortune. And then if you wanted to do anything at the rodeo that cost more. Geesh! But all the girls seemed to have fun and that's all that matters right!

This was actually a really cute part. They had to "work" at a farm completing chores and they got "money" for doing so. They even let them buy something with the money they earned. My girls both chose a juice box. And yay, it was free!

Playing at the park.

We found this great barbeque restaraunt that has live music on Saturday nights and a playground for the kids. I think we found our new fav!

Our Fancy Tea Party

Who needs laundry, or cleaning dishes, or organizing closets, or changing sheets when you could have fancy tea parties with these two sweet hearts! Here's Aubrey making our soup before our tea party started. The girls love to have tea parties, and we have lots of tea parties! This one was especially super cute because they wanted to dress up (they gave me a hat and a purse to wear as well), invite their ponies, and their babies. Aubrey kept calling it a fancy tea party. Then they wanted it to be all of our birthdays so we went around the table singing happy birthday to each other. So cute, and definitely a moment I want to always remember. I love being a mommy to little girls!

Aubrey reminded me we needed to pray before we ate.

Nan and Bop's Visit

Jeff's Dad and step mom came down from Little Rock to visit us and meet Miss Avery for the first time. We had a great time with them and they ate up every moment of playing with their grandaughters. They also brought Aubrey and Adalyn's new bedroom furniture with them, so the girls FINALLY have their room set up! We spent Saturday setting up their room, and then we tried a new restaraunt for dinner that night. Sunday, after church, we spent the afternoon playing at the park. It was a quick weekend but we are so glad they had a chance to make the drive to come see us!

Here are some pictures of our fun!

At Pei Wei after church. Yummy!

Playing at the park. Once again Aubrey didn't want to take her helmet off. She kept telling me she had to leave it on in case she wanted to go ride her bike. Have I mentioned before what a rule follower this girl is?

Look at that static!

Her Sweet Smile

Our sweet baby girl started smiling a ton at us last week. She is so sweet and her smiles seriously make Jeff and I drop all that we are doing so we can watch her and make her do it again. I'm amazed at how easy she is to get a smile out of at only 7 weeks! That funniest part is watching (and listening) to Aubrey try to get a smile out of her. She usually starts with "Hi Avery, you such a beautiful girl", in her super high pitched baby talking voice. I love it! Here are a few pictures of her first sweet little smiles.

And here is Aubrey in her assumed position, holding her baby sister. I often have to remind this girl that I'm the mommy, not her. Oh boy!

A Sweet Daddy's Girl

This girl is a daddy's girl! A big daddy's girl. She loves Jeff so much, and he is her very favorite person to play with, cuddle with and just spend time with. Since we moved to Texas she started becoming more and more attatched to him but since Avery has been born she is glued to Jeff's side. The other day before he left for work she kept following him around saying "I want you to play with me Daddy". And how could he resist that? She can hardly wait for him to come home at night and when she sees him pull up she gets ecstatic. It's really Jeff's dream come true! He has always been hoping one of the girls would be a daddy's girl.

So what about this girl...a future Daddy's girl maybe?
