It was another successful Halloween in the Skains's household, although very different from the years past, but still very fun. Our old church in San Diego always did a big Halloween festival on Halloween, so that's what we always did. My parents would come over and see the girls all dressed up, and then we would spend the evening there. We would trick or treat to a couple of neighbors houses, but not much. This year we did lots of trick or treating and we have a huge bowl of candy to prove it.
This year we started our day with making "slime"! That was our science project for school. They thought this was the best thing ever and kept them occupied for at least an hour.

To start the evening we headed across the street for a party. Our little neighbor turned one, so we celebrated her, ate a little dinner, and then headed out with the neighbors to trick or treat. We only lasted about two houses with staying all together, so then it was just our family and one other family. It was so cute watching the girls run up to each house, ring the doorbell (the ones they could reach), say "trick or treat" and then using their best manners and saying "thank you". They were so excited and just giggly the whole time! This is the sad part... I got two pictures before we started and then my camera died!!! I really was sad. But then we managed to charge it for a bit and get a few more pictures when we got home.
So here is our little "garden party" as one neighbor called us!
I think this will be the last year that Adalyn is going to go for Aubrey's last year costume! I just have hard time spending $20 on each girl for a costume to wear for one night. So next year lets ditch the "insect theme" and try something new. But who knows, I may have to drag them back out for Avery!
Before the camera died.

And now a sort of charged camera.
