My very best friend got married this past weekend, and it really was a perfect celebration. I was a bridesmaid and Aubrey and Adalyn were the flower girls. We had a blast from the moment we arrived! The weather couldn't have been more perfect, the girls were seriously on their best behavior, I got to have a few mommy breaks, and spend some much needed time with the bride. Alicia and I have been friends since we were 12, and best friends since we were 17. She is that one friend, that no matter what happens, no matter the distance between us, no matter what stage of life we are in, we will always be friends and we will always make time for each other. She is a true blessing to me and getting to watch her marry the man of her dreams was inspiring. This girl is gorgeous, and I love seeing Mike head over heals for her. Almost every week, from the moment she met Mike, Alicia would call me and fill me in on the latest development in their relationship. It was so fun to listen to her and talk about his boy and try not to get her hopes up that this was the one. But I knew. It was so sweet watching that giddiness that they have for one another and like I said, very inspiring to Jeff and I's eight year old marraige! I am beyond thrilled for these two and praying for abundant blessings on this new family that God has created.
We got there Thursday night just in time for rehearsal. Jeff and I were very unsure about the girls walking down the aisle. For those of you that know them, know how extremely shy they are. I thought for sure this isn't going to work. So we thought we definitely needed to get them to rehearsal so they had some sort of understanding about what they were going to do. After rehearsal we went to dinner. Now mind you, it was 8:30 and we were HEADED to a restaraunt. Sounds like a bad nightmare doesn't it? Well the girls were perfect! Avery kind of lost it later but that wasn't until nearly 10:30 when we were still there. I have always thought "who takes their kids to a restaraunt at bedtime?". Apparently we do! Here are a couple picks of the night.

Now I am usually always one to have my camera on me and take pictures constantly. But I guess between all my jobs this weekend (being mommy, tending to the bride etc etc) the camera was unfortunately not taken out much. So sad about this. On Friday Alicia's sister and I tagged along with her to get her hair done, and then we went out to lunch. Not one picture to show for that! Boo!
Friday night his family had a barbeque for all the wedding party which was really fun. This was another late night. We didn't leave their house til 10:30. These girls were wiped! But we had fun toasting to the bride and groom, listening to their love story, rejoicing with them, and then ending the night with sparklers!
Alicia got the girls new shoes for the wedding day.

Sparklers!

On Saturday morning (Wedding Day!), Alicia came and picked me up bright and early at our hotel and after picking up breakfast we headed to the nail salon for pedi's and mani's with the other bridesmaids and family. Alicia was probably the calmest bride I have ever been around. She just enjoyed her day!

Then it was time to head back to the hotel and help get the bride ready. She was stunning! Her dress was beautiful and she was just beaming. I hardly got any pictures, and I am so sad about that. It was pretty stressful trying to get myself ready, the girls ready and be around the bride. So the camera just didn't come out much. I am just going to have to order some from her photographer.

My very wonderful friend Bekah, who lives in McKinney but we are friends from San Diego, came to the wedding to help us with the girls. She curled their hair for me and helped entertain them for Jeff and I. This girl is such a fabulous friend! After the wedding she took all three girls back to the hotel for us and put them to bed so Jeff and I could stay at the reception. I know, greatest friend ever! And she kept thanking US for letting her spend time with our girls. Gosh I love that girl!! So here are a couple from the reception.
College friends!
The girls did so great walking down the aisle. They hardly even hesitated. No tears, they did exactly what they were supposed to do. A few days before the wedding Jeff and I got them a present. I wrapped them up really pretty and told them if they walked down the aisle they would get to open them the next day. That must have helped! Here they are the next morning with their presents for being perfect flower girls!
