A First

A couple of weeks ago we headed to Dallas to spend the weekend with Jeff's family and celebrate our niece, Reegan's, birthday. It was our first weekend away as a family of six, and I would be lying if I said it wasn't stressful, but it was really fun and it went surprisingly well. For Reegan's birthday we went roller skating which is where the title of this post comes in. It was a first for our big girls. Aubrey actually jumped at the opportunity which really surprised me, but Adalyn was a different story. She eventually decided to try, once she was ready. She ended up having so much fun and we couldn't hardly get her to stop!

So Aubrey...like I said, she put skates on right away and went for it. After she went halfway around with Jeff they realized her skates were too big and the wheels weren't rolling very well, so she was basically walking in skates. No wonder it seemed like no big deal to her. Jeff replaced them for her, but once she stood up she realized it was different and she wanted nothing to do with skating. She fell of course, and then just cried and cried "they are too slippery". Ha! Oh well. We'll try it again another time.

Here is Adalyn giving it a try. She first tried it with Aunt Dusty and then Daddy. She is ready to go again!

Here are a few more from the rest of the weekend. The girls love to spend time with their cousins.
