Getting Ready for Easter

The week before Easter we had a lot of fun around here, doing some fun crafts and really focusing on why He came, why He died and then rejoicing together that He came back and defeated death. We had a week full of great conversations!

We made these buttons crosses and a jelly bean prayer craft as well.

We dyed Easter Eggs and we did it a little differently this year. We used shaving cream and food coloring and swirled it around and then I let the girls push their eggs around with a tooth pick. It was great because they actually got to do most of the work!
See Landon peeking. This was about the extent of his involvement.

We also made these Ressurection Rolls for a fun snack one afternoon. They thought this was just the greatest thing ever! You put a large marshmallow inside a raw biscuit. You roll up the sides to close the marshmallow in, dip it in butter (I didn't say it was healthy), roll it through cinnamon sugar and bake it. When you cut through the roll after it bakes, it's empty, just like Jesus's tomb. Pretty fun!
